Playing the Second Half

This is a space for reflections and conversations about how to play the second half of life well.

When you are in your thirties, feeling almost immortal, time has a different dimension. Now, approaching 64, I experience time very differently. It goes so fast and it needs to be taken care of.

In Sweden, where I live, summer is sacred. Someone said to me recently: "If you're lucky, maybe thirty more summers."

Think, thirty summers! And that's it.

This stage of life is often called the Third Age - the period after you retired, but before health defines us. It can be a time of freedom, reinvention, and deeper awareness. But only if we choose to approach it consciously.

Having said that, this space is not only for those in their sixties and beyond. If you are in your thirties or forties, the reflections here may matter even more. Because playing the second half well is much easier if the first half is also played well.

My hope is that this becomes a place of energy, ideas, and honest conversation - where we help each other make the most of this extraordinary blessing that is life.
